  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam or finely chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Roll out puff pastry slightly and cut into heart shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
  4. Gently score a smaller heart inside each piece without cutting all the way through.
  5. Spoon cream cheese mixture into the center and top with strawberry jam.
  6. Whisk egg and milk, then brush edges of pastry.
  7. Bake until puffed and golden brown, about 18-25 minutes depending on your oven.
  8. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
