  • 1 lb halal ground beef or halal turkey sausage
  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup corn (fresh, frozen, or canned)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the halal ground beef or turkey sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add potatoes, onion, corn, and the cooked meat to the slow cooker.
  3. In a bowl, mix soup, sour cream, 1 cup cheddar cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and onion powder.
  4. Pour the mixture over the ingredients in the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are tender.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup cheddar cheese on top during the last 10–15 minutes of cooking to melt.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
