  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 ½ cups crushed pretzels
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • For the mustard-cheddar sauce:
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels, breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly in the pretzel mixture.
  4. Place on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle lightly with olive oil.
  5. Bake until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F/74°C).
  6. Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook briefly.
  7. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until thickened.
