Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp steak seasoning
- ½ cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp A-1 style steak sauce (halal-friendly brand)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 4 sandwich buns, toasted
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper; sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in garlic, steak seasoning, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and steak sauce. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto toasted buns. Top each with a slice of provolone cheese and let it melt slightly before serving.
- Serve hot with fries or salad for a hearty, satisfying dinner.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- To boost cheese melt, place an extra slice of provolone on top and cover briefly until melted.
- Ensure sauces used are halal-certified to keep the dish halal-friendly.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave.
- Can be made with mozzarella or pepper jack as a variation.
