One-Pan Bold Honey BBQ Chicken Rice: a sweet, smoky, bold and comforting one-pan dinner loaded with juicy chicken, fluffy rice, and rich honey BBQ flavor—easy cleanup and weeknight friendly.

- 1 lb chicken breast, diced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup honey BBQ sauce (ensure halal)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (ensure halal)
- 1 tsp chili powder or smoked paprika
- ½ cup corn (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken to the pan and cook 4–5 minutes until lightly browned (it will finish cooking with the rice).
- Stir in the uncooked rice and toast for 1 minute.
- Add chicken broth, honey BBQ sauce, honey, soy sauce, and chili powder or smoked paprika. Stir well.
- Bring to a simmer, then cover and reduce heat to low. Cook 15–18 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Stir in corn if using, then fluff and let rest 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions and serve warm.
Notes
- Halal ingredients: honey BBQ sauce and soy sauce should be halal certified.
- Leftovers refrigerate well for 3–4 days.
- Feel free to substitute frozen corn or omit it altogether.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions for a fresh finish.
