Description

One-Pan Bold Honey BBQ Chicken Rice: a sweet, smoky, bold and comforting one-pan dinner loaded with juicy chicken, fluffy rice, and rich honey BBQ flavor—easy cleanup and weeknight friendly.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup honey BBQ sauce (ensure halal)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (ensure halal)
  • 1 tsp chili powder or smoked paprika
  • ½ cup corn (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add chicken to the pan and cook 4–5 minutes until lightly browned (it will finish cooking with the rice).
  3. Stir in the uncooked rice and toast for 1 minute.
  4. Add chicken broth, honey BBQ sauce, honey, soy sauce, and chili powder or smoked paprika. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a simmer, then cover and reduce heat to low. Cook 15–18 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Stir in corn if using, then fluff and let rest 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions and serve warm.

Notes

  • Halal ingredients: honey BBQ sauce and soy sauce should be halal certified.
  • Leftovers refrigerate well for 3–4 days.
  • Feel free to substitute frozen corn or omit it altogether.
  • Garnish with parsley or green onions for a fresh finish.
