- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp red food coloring
- 18 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
- Extra sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla, milk, and red food coloring, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into balls and roll each in granulated sugar.
- Place dough balls on the baking sheet, spacing them apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes until set.
- Remove from oven and immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
Notes
- For extra festive color, chill the dough for 30 minutes, then roll in sugar.
- If you don’t have Hershey’s Kisses, substitute with another chocolate kiss or small chocolate chunks.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
