  • 3 lb beef chuck roast (halal)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup beef broth (gluten free)
  • 1 tbsp gluten free Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 3 carrots, cut into chunks
  • 2 potatoes, cut into chunks
  • Optional: fresh thyme or rosemary

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season chuck roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Sear roast on all sides until browned, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  3. Place sliced onion, carrots, and potatoes in the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Set the seared roast on top of the vegetables.
  5. Pour beef broth and gluten free Worcestershire sauce over the roast. Add minced garlic and herbs if using.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beef is fork-tender.
  7. Slice or shred roast, spoon juices over the top, and serve warm.
