Description

Cowboy Sliders: Juicy, cheesy, smoky-sweet mini burgers on Hawaiian rolls that deliver bold BBQ flavor for game day, parties, and easy crowd-pleasing dinners. Perfect for a finger-food feast with crispy toppings and melty cheddar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef (halal)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar or Colby Jack cheese
  • 6 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • ¼ cup crispy fried onions
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir BBQ sauce into the cooked beef and remove from heat.
  4. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place bottom layer in a baking dish.
  5. Spread BBQ beef evenly over the rolls.
  6. Sprinkle with cheese, turkey bacon, and crispy fried onions.
  7. Place the top halves of the rolls on and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle sesame seeds if using.
  8. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake another 8–10 minutes until golden and melty. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of chili powder or a few dashes of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Make-ahead tip: assemble up to the point of brushing with butter, refrigerate, then bake when ready to serve.
  • Use gluten-free Hawaiian rolls if needed for a gluten-free option (note: cross-contamination with non-gluten items).
  • For extra crunch, add crispy fried onion toppings just before serving.
