Prep ahead and customize for your Christmas morning feast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups bread cubes or 4 cups frozen hash browns
  • 1 lb halal breakfast sausage or turkey sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup diced turkey ham (optional, replaces regular ham)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: green onions or fresh parsley for topping

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 baking dish and spread the bread cubes or hash browns evenly.
  2. Add cooked halal sausage, turkey ham, onion, and bell pepper over the base.
  3. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella evenly across the top.
  4. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, garlic powder, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the casserole.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight or bake immediately.
  7. When ready to bake, heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake 45–50 minutes until golden, set in the center, and bubbly around the edges.
  9. Let cool slightly, top with green onions or parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Make-ahead: refrigerate overnight for easier Christmas morning.
  • Use gluten-free bread if needed (or hash browns).
  • Customize with extra veggies or different cheeses.
  • If using hash browns, ensure they thaw and drain excess moisture for best results.
  • Let the casserole rest 5–10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave or oven.
