Description

Chicken with Buttered Noodles is a cozy, easy dinner featuring tender chicken served over buttery, herbaceous egg noodles—perfect for weeknights and comfort food lovers.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup reserved pasta water
  • Optional: grated Parmesan for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Season the chicken with garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook 6–8 minutes until golden and cooked through. Set aside.
  4. In the same pot used for noodles, melt the butter over low heat. Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds.
  5. Toss in the cooked noodles with the butter mixture, adding a splash of pasta water if needed to loosen.
  6. Stir in fresh parsley and adjust seasoning.
  7. Serve the buttery noodles topped with the cooked chicken. Add Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • You can use chicken breast or thighs, whichever you prefer.
  • Reserve pasta water to loosen the noodles as needed.
  • Parmesan can be added for extra flavor.
  • For a lighter version, use less butter or substitute olive oil.
