- 6 slices cheddar or American cheese, cut in half
- ¼ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup dill pickle slices (optional)
- For the buttery topping:
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- ½ tsp sesame seeds
- ½ tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, season ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Cook beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place bottom halves in the baking dish.
- Spread cooked beef evenly over the rolls.
- Add cheese slices evenly over the beef, then add pickles if using.
- Spread ketchup and mayonnaise on the top halves of the rolls and place them on.
- Mix melted butter with sesame seeds and garlic powder, then brush over the tops.
- Bake uncovered for 15–18 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden.
- Slice and serve warm.
